Organising a construction project in your home
If you are going to be having a large-scale conversion or building project at your home, then you need to think carefully about who is going to manage it. It may be that you decide to hire a project manage and it will be their job to oversee the whole project from start to finish. But for some people, this is an added cost that you could do without, so you decide to manage the project yourself.
Managing any construction or development project can be tricky, especially if you have no prior experience. Often one of the hardest parts of project managing is coordination all the different trades people. With many projects, yu need to have trades people in at just the right time and if one of them over runs, doesn’t turn up or doesn’t do their part correctly, this can have a knock-on effect on all the other trades people too. If you need new electrics installing, then they electrician may need to come in towards the start to put cables in and then will need to come back after plasters have been in to do the second fix. If the plasters are delayed then this will also mean the electrician may be too. Sometimes you may need tow or more different trades there at the same time. This may be hard especially at the moment when social distancing needs to be maintained.
