Crane Forks – To speed up your processes

Crane forks will speed up your processes, something that every savvy business owner is going to want to do in order to complete projects to a high standard, and to complete them in the shortest amount of time possible. These are all important points when you need to make a project cost effective and good value for money, whilst also ensuring that the people working on your site are well looked after and will be able to complete their crane duties to the highest standards.

So how can crane forks save you time and money? They can complete lifting processes that you would usually need other pieces of equipment for, so you won’t need to invest in two expensive pieces of lifting equipment. Your attachment can simply be used with your crane, fixing directly onto it so that it can be used instead of, say, a forklift truck or a pallet truck. You might even carry out processes like this by hand, in which case, you will save yourself considerable amounts of time and labour.

How do crane forks work? They will attach directly onto your crane, so you can start using it straight away. You will be able to adjust the mast level and tines in full, which means you will easily be able to lift loads of all kinds of sizes.

Some different kinds of crane forks

You will need to make sure you get crane forks that will be compatible with your particular type of crane and that will fulfil your purposes. There are two main categories: manual and automatic (self weight). With the manual fork, you will need to make sure you adjust it manually to complete the process safely, setting the masterlink to make sure the angle is adjusted correctly. An automatic fork will adjust itself, depending on the load that is put onto it.

Here are some specific examples of crane forks:

  • Camlock manual balancing crane forks. These crane forks come from a popular brand and will need to be balanced manually. They have a capacity of 5,000kg and will need little to no maintenance once you have them. Whilst they are manual, they are also easy to adjust, as you engage the master link in by manually hooking it.
  • Boscaro adjustable pallet crane forks. You can lift up to 2,000kg with these crane forks, and they will adjust and balance automatically, securing the load with a pre-fitted safety net. This is the perfect way to make your crane into a pallet moving tool.
  • Camlock self weight balance crane forks. These are capable of lifting loads up to 5,000kg, self balancing for your convenience during lifting. The crane forks have adjustable tines, which will usually point upwards during transportation and will therefore prevent the load slipping. The lifting point goes back to the unloaded position when the load is taken off – you just need the load to be 20% of the working load limit or more.
