What are Building Regulations and Why do they Matter?
Building regulations are, put simply, the minimum standards that need to be met during the construction process of any building. There are lots of different types of regulations, depending on the type of building that is being constructed, the size of the building, its purpose etc.
You will need to make sure you are meeting building regulations when you begin a project. If you hire a professional builder, building company or architect, they should have a good understanding of the building regulation requirements for your project.
You will need to get approval from a building control service or from an approved inspector or local authority. They will be able to give you the documentation you need to show that the building meets with minimum regulations.
Regulations are so important for health and safety during construction projects. They ensure that everybody is safe and that construction work is being carried out responsibly.
